Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 2016 Spring EMRS meeting, which will be held in Lille, France, May 2-6, 2016.
We would like to draw your particular attention to the symposium BB: Defect-induced effects in nanomaterials.
The symposium addresses intriguing possibilities of tailoring different properties of low-dimensional and nano-materials in a controlled manner by introducing dopants (e.g. implantation) or creating growth- and radiation-induced defects.
The latest achievements in theory and experiment will be presented and discussed by academic and industrial researchers.

- Effects of grain boundaries and interfaces on the diffusion and transport processes in nanomaterials.
- Swift heavy ion irradiation as a means to tailor nanomaterials.
