Department of Quantum Electrodynamics of Strong Fields
Head of the Dept.
PhD. Kholodov R.I.
Department staff (left to right): Denisenko O.I., Starodub S.S., Tsybul’nik V.A., Lebed A.A., Levitska O.O, Nedoreshta V.N., Roshchupkin S.P., Voroshil A.I.
The main research areas are
- Develop relativistic theory of resonant and non-resonant QED processes induced and modified by laser field for pico- and femtosecond lasers (τ~10-13c ) in strong laser fields (W~1018-1019Вт/cm2):lepton-lepton scattering, spontaneous braking while electron-nucleus scattering, photoproduction of electron-positron pairs on a nucleus, Compton effect, electron-positron pairs production by a photon, spontaneous emission of a photon by an electron, etc.
- Develop relativistic theory of resonant and non-resonant QED processes induced and modified by laser field for pico- and femtosecond lasers (τ~10-15c) in moderately strong laser fields (W~1017Вт/см2):lepton-lepton scattering, spontaneous braking while electron-nucleus scattering, photoproduction of electron-positron pairs on a nucleus, Compton effect, electron-positron pairs production by a photon, spontaneous emission of a photon by an electron, etc.
- Develop a theory of resonant and non-resonant interference effects of QED processes in multifrequency pulsed laser field.
- Development of a quantum theory of effective interaction potential between electrons, ions (light and heavy) as well as positronium in strong pulsed laser fields.
- Development of a relativistic theory for electromagnetic field amplification in QED processes in laser field specifically for ultrarelativistic electron energies.
Department carries out spring and autumn scientific sessions regularly (see сайт )
