Personal information

Oleksandr Koropov was born in 1957, Magnitogorsk, Cheliabinsk region, USSR.

 

In 1980 he graduated from the Gorkov Kharkiv State University with honour, speciality - theoretical nuclear physics.

From 1980 to 1992 he worked at the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology, NAS of Ukraine, on positions of laboratory assistant, junior research worker, research fellow.

In 1989 he defended his PhD thesis.

From 1992 to 1997 he worked at the Sumy State University as an assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor, departments of applied physics, theoretical physics, physical electronics .

From 1997 to 2002 Koropov worked at the Sumy National Agricultural University, departments of advanced maths and physics.

In 2001 he was entitled on the post of associate professor, department of advanced maths and physics.

Since 2002 he has been working at the Institute of Applied Physics, NAS of Ukraine, Sumy, Ukraine, department of theoretical physics, on the position of  senior research fellow.

On December 22, 2021, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine announced a competition to replace the director of the Institute of Applied Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. According to the Statute of the NAS of Ukraine, the right to nominate candidates for the position of director of a scientific institution has: the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine, the Bureau of the relevant branch of the NAS of Ukraine, members of the NAS of Ukraine, the Academic Council of the institution. A candidate for the position of director of a state scientific institution must be fluent in the state language, have a doctorate or doctor of philosophy and work experience as a researcher and (or) research and teaching staff of at least 10 years.
