Laboratory of Physical methods of Ore Analysis

Head of the Dept. DSci, associate professor Valter Anton A. +38 (044) 525-03-20, avalter@iop.kiev.ua

At work (left to right): Pysans’kyi A.I., Valter A.A Goniodska L.S., Chmil V.V.

The main research areas are

  • study of 208Pb concentration in some mineral matrices to determine natural sources of 208Pb isotope for nuclear power engineering,;
  • study of monocyte content as a complex raw material of thorium, rare-earth elements, and pure 208Pb isotope;
  • confirmation of mineralization parameters for 208Pb isotope with determination of exact purity data and data on inventory for three types of deposits:

    а) complex titan-zirconium placers under development;

    б) prolluvial-dealluvial placers formed as a result of pegmatites and granites destruction;

    в) drastic demonstrations of uranium-free pegmatites with study of indicators of uranium mineralization;

  • а) extension of deposits under investigation: determination of typical uranium minerals and features of their composition and atomic structure;

    б) improvement of an indicator system of nonmetallic minerals formed as a result of natural radiation(radiation physics of ores);

  • adaptation of sample preparation for determination of transuranium element content with accelerator mass-spectrometry.
